Bring brain-building books to Minnesota families!
Books make our program work. They spark a connection between healthcare provider and child, and serve as a building block for a child's learning and growth.
When you provide Reach Out and Read Minnesota clinics with high-quality and age appropriate books, you help us to build kids' brains and bring families together.
Reach Out and Read Minnesota can accept donations of new or gently used books.
*It is required to contact our staff before making any book donations. We cannot accept unanticipated donations*
New books can be used in the Reach Out and Read core program. Volunteers can organize online book drives for our program by asking their friends, coworkers, or community members to purchase new books through a local bookstore or one of Reach Out and Read Minnesota's book distribution partners.
Donations of new books can make our program possible at clinics that otherwise may not have the resources to purchase books for their patients!
We are looking for books for children ages 0-5 and are especially in need of culturally diverse books and bilingual books.
Please reach out to us before starting your book drive so that we can make sure we get the right books to the clinics that need them most.

You can read our new book donation guidelines here (download).
Gently used books are used to stock waiting rooms and free libraries at clinics, to give out at sick-visits, and to give to children outside of our program age. They are a powerful way we can build home libraries for families!
All used book donations must meet our quality and content guidelines (download).
We cannot accept books that
- Have visible signs of wear or damage
- Contain religious themes
- Contain violence
- Promote unhealthy habits
It takes staff time and resources to accept and sort through used book donations. Please review our guidelines ahead of the donation and only include those books which meet our standards. This will help our small team better serve our clinics and families!
