Reach Out and Read Minnesota has a number of ways to get involved and share the brain building power of books across our state.
New book drives: Our partner clinics are always grateful to receive new children's books they can use for our core program. Volunteers can organize online book drives for our program by asking their friends, coworkers, or community members to purchase new books through a local bookstore or one of Reach Out and Read Minnesota's book distribution partners. Gently used books: Gently used books are a great way we can build families' home libraries in addition to their Reach Out and Read books! All used book donations must meet our quality and content guidelines (download). Please read these guidelines ahead of collecting books or making your donation. Learn more on our book donation page.
Book sorting: With so many gently used books coming in from our community, we often need help sorting through our books and get them ready for our partner clinics to take! We have periodic opportunities to volunteer at our book storage site in Bloomington to sort and pack books, or to help with our used book open houses. Learn more by contacting us below.
Start your own campaign: Whether it's running a marathon or starting a birthday fundraiser, there are a number of ways you can get your community engaged in our program! Create a group fundraiser via GoFundMe Charity or Facebook, or another peer-to-peer fundraising platform.
