Reach Out and Read gives young children a foundation for success by incorporating books into pediatric care and encouraging families to read aloud together. With your help, we can positively impact children’s healthy development.
Nearly one quarter of children in the United States speak a language other than English at home. We take a look at how exposure to multiple languages can affect a child's development and provide some tips on how parents, schools, and organizations like ours can make sure that multilingualism is an asset, not a liability, for our children.
With help from the Excelsior Rotary club, families and faculty at Clear Springs Elementary in Minnetonka collected 2,300 books for Reach Out and Read MN. The books will go to waiting rooms, exam rooms, and to sick children at participating clinics across the state.
