Volunteers/Donors needed for bookshelf project

We are looking for volunteers to help build shelving in our storage unit for used books, as well as donors who can provide materials. See our volunteer posting below.

Reach Out and Read Minnesota is a nonprofit organization that seeks to give young children a foundation for success through the powerful effects of reading and sharing a story with a loved one. We work with doctors and nurses across the state to provide books to young children during their routine pediatric visits and educate and empower families to read together to boost their children’s development.

In addition to the new books used in our core program, we also receive and distribute donations of gently used books to our clinic network. These books are used to stock waiting rooms, to give away at community events, and to give at sick visits or to older siblings outside of our program’s age range.

With thousands of books coming in and out of our storage unit every year, we need help keeping them efficiently organized! We are seeking a volunteer or team of volunteers who can help build shelving for our (dimensions) storage space in Bloomington.

These shelves would help us stay organized and help our clinic partners find the books they want more easily when they come to stock up.

We will prioritize volunteers who are able to provide their own materials, however, we may be able to purchase materials/prefabricated shelving as necessary. Please reach out to our Program Manager, Eleanor GrandPre (eleanor@reachoutandreadmn.org) if you are interested. Thank you!
