Kappa Psi at UMN hosts drive to deliver new, diverse books to Community University Healthcare Center in Minneapolis

(January 11th, 2021)  Late last week,  University of Minnesota pharmaceutical fraternity Kappa Psi dropped off approximately 100 new donated books at Community University Health Care Center (CUHCC) in Minneapolis.  Kappa Psi members, along with their friends and families, purchased the books from local vendors Birchbark Books and Babycakes Book Stack Mobile, to be used in the Reach Out and Read program at CUHCC.  The books largely feature diverse characters and stories and many of the books are available in Spanish, Somali, and other languages commonly spoken by patients at CUHCC.

The books will be distributed at young children's well-child visits at the South Minneapolis clinic. Reach Out and Read Minnesota is excited to be partnering with Minnesota's current and future healthcare professionals at the Kappa Psi fraternity and to further strengthen the healthcare community's investment in early childhood learning.
