We're harnessing the brain-building power of books to create a brighter future for Minnesota's youngest learners, and we want you to join us!
Watch the recording of our Spring Benefit Breakfast, held on May 9th, 2024, and join us as we build a movement to build better brains for young children all across Minnesota.
Picturing Our Future: In a world full of competing images and constant stimulation, how do we choose what really matters to us? How do we choose to value our loved ones and the precious moments we have to share with them? What kind of future do we want for our youngest Minnesotans, and how do we make that vision a reality? Join us the morning of May 9th as we dream big, and envision a happy, healthy, and hopeful future for all of our community's young children and their families.
Reach Out and Read Minnesota's annual Spring Benefit Breakfast is here! "The Breakfast" as it's commonly called by the Reach Out and Read Minnesota community, is a unique event which is a can't miss for anyone interested in the world of early childhood learning and health in Minnesota. We bring together a cross section of our state's leaders from diverse sectors, including healthcare, early childhood learning, government, libraries, children's book publishers and more, who all share one common belief: the simple act of sharing a story with a loved one can transform a child's life.
We are thrilled to share with our community what we have in store for this year's program, including our keynote speaker, Minnesota children's book author, Michael Hall. Michael is the New York Times Best Selling author/illustrator of eleven picture books including Red: A Crayon’s Story, My Heart Is Like a Zoo, and Perfect Square. We can't wait to hear Michael share about his work, his own journey with literacy, and how we can inspire our own children to love learning!
We'll also be hearing from our Executive Director, Kris Hoplin, our Medical Director, Dr. Gigi Chawla, and Reach Out and Read Minnesota's medical providers, about exciting updates from our program and the challenges and opportunities ahead for our state's youngest learners.
Our Spring Benefit is open to any and all who wish to attend. We ask that those who are able consider making a donation at registration, as generosity from our community is what makes our brain-building program possible at hundreds of clinics across the state!
Thank you to our sponsors for making our benefit—and our program—possible!
